DWE7485 review

The DWE7485 DeWALT Mitre Saw features a tough 240v x 1850w motor for extended durability, efficiency, and power to cut all construction timbers out on site, a two-position fence with a maximum 610mm rip capacity, 65mm depth of cut at 90 degrees plus 45mm at 45 degrees, and one-handed bevel control for quick/accurate bevel adjustment and lock.

DeWALT Job Site Table Saws for a reason, they’re the workhorse of the woodworking and construction communities. A lot of things they get right. Your push stick, fence, riving knife, cable, and miter gauge may all be stored on board.

Dewalt DWE7485 Review

While the DWE7485 lacks the rollable stand seen on other DeWalt job-site table saws, it is significantly lighter. This instrument is light enough to take everywhere, weighing only 46 pounds.

However, Some did end up putting it on the rollable stand on my DWE7491RS. Our advise is to look into getting a stand for yourself. If money is tight, you can always make your own.

The DWE7485 has a lower friction surface that helps to increase cutting performance across the board, in addition to the Modular Guarding System for tool-free adjustability.

It goes with the metal roll cage foundation, which is more stable and durable than the plastic base.

More critically, DEWALT has fitted the DWE7485 with a power-loss reset to deal with unintentional restarting of the unit after the power goes out.

When the electricity is restored, the saw will not automatically turn on again. Feel safe and protected!

In comparison to the previous iteration, the DWE7480, DEWALT appears to have reduced the blade size and weight of the DWE7485.

The blade is less than 9 inches long, as opposed to the DWE7480’s 10-inch blade. Is the cutting/ripping capacity therefore reduced?

Yes, it is correct! The 15Amp motor, on the other hand, is unchanged. In this case, a 5,800RPM no-load speed is superior.

As a result, it still has enough power to handle heavy work like cutting hardwood or plywood, and the cuts are quick, clean, and precise.

The DWE7485, on the other hand, has an exclusive fence arrangement that gives consumers maximum rip capacity.

The fence can be adjusted smoothly and precisely using rack and telescoping pinion fence rails. To rip fabrics, move the rails out of 20 inches, preferably 24.5 inches.

At a minimum, you can attain a cutting depth of 1-3/4 inch at 45° and 2-9/16 inch at 90°.

The cutting output is decent with a medium-range table saw, albeit it cannot compare to the DWE7480.

DeWalt’s Modular Guard System is featured on this table saw. Other safety measures include using a push stick instead of your hands to push the workpieces, anti-kickback pawls, and a riving knife.

As far as we know, the DWE7485 is designed for mitering, non-through cutting applications (plastic, wood, and soft materials), ripping, and crosscutting by DEWALT’s construction professionals.

With such a diverse range of applications, many clients anticipate that this saw will be costly. That is a misinterpretation. Let us be honest with you.

The DWE7485 is not only lighter than its older sibling, the DWE7480, but it is also less expensive.

To own this saw, you simply need to pay a smaller price.

Dust Collection

There is one 2-1/2″ dust port available. This table saw does not include a dust bag, so if you plan to use it in your workshop and don’t already have one, you should consider purchasing one.

If you have a shop vac, make sure the port is compatible; if not, an adapter can be purchased.

The DeWALT DWE7485 – Verdict

Now that you’ve read about DWE7485 review, DeWalt produces high-quality, long-lasting, and dependable products, and the DWE7485 is no exception. A metal roll cage adds to the longevity of this product. Some of the components are composed of hard plastic.

The supplied miter gauge is weak and cheaply manufactured, but for a table saw at this price point, we can’t complain.

The DWE7485 is nearly identical to the now-discontinued DWE7480 and offers little new. But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s a good table saw at a reasonable price. This is a wonderful tool for professionals that need a portable table saw if you don’t mind the smaller blade.
